Dude........ ummm....

Nice FX, but... use of preset loops? Not kosher for real tunes... Try experimenting more!

On-yX responds:

Uhm.. Its not preset!!!!! Its called 3xOcs and ts404 layers :)

Amazing work.

I fell in love with this piece right at the intro... and even more so when the bass filtered in. :)

I'm sure you've heard this before, but I'm amazed at the professionalism in your mastering. I've downloaded this and your song "Higher Force (ClubMix), and love them both... excellent work.

Keep going, seriously. 5/5

Please take a look at my work, and the work of AscensionTrance (my former side-project). I'd really like to hear your feedback, if any.

Pulstate responds:

Thanks mate, I will check your work soon! :)

Wow.

Wow. I recognized it right away, and yet was blown away... Very nicely done, my friend. Epic and yet retaining that video-game quality.

Very well done.

DistortionResonance responds:

Well that would probably be friends since we are a group and thanks for the review glad you liked it.

Interesting.

Having now listened to two of your pieces, one thing you need to work on is progression. Making music is one thing- making a song is another thing entirely.

Liken it to this: it's the difference between shouting random words and speaking in sentences. You have a flow of ideas in normal speech- it's the same in music.

You must learn to speak musically. (And I'll be the first to admit that this is something that I too need help with.) Admittedly, trance and other forms of instrumental music are languages that are particularly hard to speak. You've definitely improved your vocabulary, in that you've broadened your use of instruments, and FX... but even so- now use those words to make a sentence.

HiniberusDelius responds:

Hmmm... never thought that I could relate music to english grammer. That's interesting I must say. I'll keep you updated for when my other tracks come up. I'm also trying to ease off the randomness as from what I'm hearing now it's not going to work for me.

You don't get to steal loops

You can't do this sort of thing. You may be "mixing" it, as you say, but you're really just stealing those loops. Make a real song.

I know
Thats why I said its not the original

PS: Thats what a remix is. If you don't like it, go bother someone else.

Ummmm.... Ok.

Discord in small doses can be artistic and musically valuable. However, when you're holding it out in multiple patterns for an extended period of time, it can become grating to the ears. Humans crave harmony.

One word of caution- premade drum loops are REALLY obvious. I highly recommend slicing them and re-doing the sequence on your own. It's fun!

Nice mastering on this. The individual instruments sounded professional.

Best of luck.

Dr-Slump responds:

Oh man, you're right, i mean, i used a premade drum loop on this on... i was already getting mad, because i stopped doing that. Now, i use my own drum or sliced drum loops. So yeah... but i'm doing my best to improve, don't worry! Thanks for the review!

Great Start.

I like the progressions. They're well developed. I'm not sure exactly how long you've been making music, but I'm quite sure it's shorter than I have, so you're already better than I am in that respect ^_^.

Anyways, I agree with everyone about the progressions being commercial. Great to start with, but experiment! Tweak! Re-do stuff! It's fun.

One thing I would like to point out, and perhaps this is just me and my defective ears, but sometimes I had a hard time distinquishing the sounds... like they ran together. If you look back and decide you hear the same, a little mastering would take that problem away.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress as an artist. Good luck.

Sorry about that! Im just experiment with some synths I found with fl studio, so I dont really care about mastering. But I will considerthat in my future songs.

Of all your work, I like this the best.

I understand this is just the beta version, but you should try expanding it further. I think this one holds great potential, should you finish it.

Best of luck.

Reviewing as I listen...

I'm an industrial fan myself. That said, here is my critique.

First- drop the speech generators. -.- Too many people use them and they're really cheesy.

Second- The distorted bass you bring in at the beginning is probably the best part of your song, and the most industrial thing about the piece. It's awesome. KUDOS!

Third- Your song lacks form. Unfortunately, this is one of the cardinal sins of music composition, and is something you NEED to work on. There needs to be a logical flow and progression to each piece, no matter what that actual progression is. Go to your local music store, and pick up a music theory book. It'll cost you $20 but save you YEARS of bad reviews (trust me).

Now- suggestions!

My main suggestion to rectify your problem is to LISTEN TO GOOD INDUSTRIAL MUSIC. Here's a list of songs you should look into.

"Starsign"- Apoptygma Berserk
"Anarchy" - K.M.F.D.M.
"StarF***ers Inc." - Nine Inch Nails (yes, it's industrial)
"Closer"- Nine Inch Nails
"Strata"- VNV Nation (probably closest to the style you're looking for)
"Interceptor"- VNV Nation (companion song to "Strata")
"Entropy"-VNV Nation (good dist. bass for you to study)
Anything off the Praise The Fallen album by VNV Nation
"Forever"- Bruderschaft, Apoptygma Berserk, VNV Nation, Covenant

Hopefully those songs will get you going in a good direction for Industrial stylings. BEST OF LUCK!!!!

HiniberusDelius responds:

Okay thanks for the review, I to don't really like them now so for my next track I'm gonna do my own vocals (The ones of Vocals test are presets).I'll keep on makeing Industrial and I'll get better in time. I'll also be sure to listen to the recomended tracks. "Years of bad reviews" well i only got 1 negative one so far and that's for the pianos one.

It was OK.

Pardon the ignorance, but what's the deal with all these 165+ BPM songs you're making? Is that danceable? (Not poking fun, seriously. I'm trying to figure this out.)

Instrumentation was ok, drums were ok, everything was ok. Could be better, but I can't exactly put my finger on what you could do to fix it.

Perhaps you could try a more club-applicable style? Look up Alphazone for a good example of what I'm talking about.

Kilkila

Rave4Yourself responds:

The deal is that this is UK Hardcore dude. I KNOW Alphazone, lol, sorry if i sound mad, but dude im not some noob from NG who only knows NG tracks. I've been through trance, hard trance, hard dance (NOT the same thing!!!!!), even some goa, and finally i discovered Hardcore (UK Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, Gabber, Freeform, Finnish Freeform), and i LOVE it! So im sticking to it! CDanceable? NO. RAVEABLE??? YES!!! You should see what them niggas do in those raves, lol, the music's so fast, and making everyone feel so good they dont even KNOW what to DO they're so happy! I havent even gone to a club/rave/etc, but i experienced that same feeling (with out drugs, cuz i dont do drugs) while listneing to DI.fm Radio (www.di.fm if you dont know it yet.) and sitting in my chair, it was an amazing feeling, and since then i've wanted to make stuff that does that to people. Blows their mind without drugs! I'm not being stuckup saying this is like the best track ever or that it can blow someone's mind, but i think its pretty sweet, and my best thus far.

Its simple i know, but its EFFECTIVE, its a different style, you dont have to like it, but just get used to it, :P k?

sorry to get all crazy on you like that, :P

Thanks for saying "pardon all the ignorance" btw, lol, took alotta steam off of me, lol.

btw Hard dance ownz, i listen to it a fair amount on DI.fm (hard dance station ftw) and it OWWWNZ soooo much more than Hardcore most of the time, cuz its SERIOUS but ya, enough talking, lol.

Thanks for the review.
